HK people take hall activities very seriously. This is the result of several nights of all nighters. The theme of our hall is "spider cave." So it's a story pulled from "Journey to the West" where the spider demons are really pretty women who live in caves. The outside has fairies while on the inside we have spiders, webs, and butterflies. The thing I really respect about the culture here is the emphasize on the collective effort. I don't think people in the west would as willingly put so much time into hall activities. Honestly people would rather go out and have fun by themselves or they'd think of these things as too much of as a hassle. The difference in mindset and culture is astonishing. I really like this difference though and at times I wish I could see more of this back in the states...
