So Hoover's Cake Shop is actually very famous for their egg tarts. A lot of celebrities and food blogs mention these egg tarts as a must-try food of Hong Kong but I wouldn't agree with them. Maybe they once were amazing but the tarts I got today were mediocre.
The special thing about their tarts is that they're supposed to have been made with duck eggs. This is supposed to make it more flavorful but honestly the egg filling didn't taste like anything to me. It wasn't sweet nor was there much egg flavor either. I was so sad... The only redeeming factor about the egg tart was the crust. It was buttery and flaky. A good tart has to have a good crust but sadly this tart isn't even close to good because the filling was so disappointing... T^T
