Last night was a good night. After going shopping for my friend's birthday present, we ended up eating at a western restaurant in Festival Walk. I forgot the name of it but it was really nice. There was a pretty long line but for some reason, as soon as we got on the line, the line lady asked us how many people we had and she just brought us to our table. We pretty much skipped the wait and got the nicest table in the middle of the restaurant with a great view of the open kitchen and veranda outside. The food was so good. We ordered pumpkin salad, crab salad, lamb with ratatouille, and a spaghetti with clams. It wasn't really amazing but at least it didn't taste like asianfied western food. The service was great for a change unlike other restaurants in Hong Kong. We had quite a marvelous night and just talked about boys over dinner. |
Then we headed over to LKF, the expat bar zone. We went at around 8pm and the place was the cleanest I'd ever seen it. It wasn't terribly crowded and we could actually talk to each other without yelling. We were headed up the street towards this restaurant and bar called Lily and Bloom. They were having a wine tasting and we just wanted a nice place to sit down and have a drink.
I absolutely loved this place. Everything about it was just perfect. The lighting, the ambiance, the music, and even our server. She was from Germany and she was the friendliest little woman ever. She also suggested some really great wines for each of us personally. We started off with a sparkling wine before moving on to the white wines which are my favorite.
I seriously love sweet white wines. The first one we had was on the dryer side but the second one was perfect. It was a sweet fruity white wine and those are my favorite. The rosette was also pretty good but it didn't leave much of an impression on me. Later she suggested we try a Spanish red wine. That was really good. Too bad I forgot the name of it because it was the smoothest red wine I've tried so far. It was fun because we didn't have a big group of people. There were just 3 of us, Ji Won, Holy and me. We continued our conversation about relationships and just talked about what it was like to have such strong personalities. I love all of them because of that but we also talked about how hard it is sometimes because not everyone appreciated someone so strong. By then we were getting a bit tipsy so but we vowed never to compromise who we were. |
It was an eventful night and definitely one of my favorite nights here. It was nice and relaxing just sitting and chatting over a drink instead of hitting the clubs on the lower levels like the other exchange students. Cheers to a night of good food and company~
